Btw, I noted that there is no prize for the photographer if they win. Prize is for the WEDDING COUPLE. So means you are seeking for paid photography services since the prize is not shared?

Asking on behalf of my hubby. He is taking up photography as a hobby.

Forgot to add, you need to submit your photos BY 2nd December 2007. The contest itself will be on 14th December 2007. Which means that you will need to take your photos ASAP and get them edited ASAP.

Dear Ke-er13,

Congratulations! I'm interested to take up the challenge!

For this very interesting shoot, my quote will be S$300. This is for photography service only. I am not sure what you are looking for in prints/soft copies, but will be interested to discuss further.

My website can be found here.

Hope to hear from you soon. :)

I read the rules and my understanding is that couples are supposed to register for the competition. Only when selected, then they are allowed to go to T3 on 14 Dec to do the proper shoot. The couple can bring 3 more people with them as a group, i.e. photog, asst, and MUA.

Therefore, you do not need to go to shoot the pictures prior to contest application.

Indeed, the contest is wedding-couple driven and not photographer-driven. And the copyrights of the photos will belong to CAAS. To the photographers, do consider it is as good as 'selling' the rights of your images to the couple who will use it for their own benefits (i.e. for competitions).

For wedding couples, I suppose it would make more sense if you arrange for a pre-wedding shoot on the same day, using T3 as one of the stops for the shoot. Then make an agreement with the photographer to sell the rights of THREE photos to the couples to use for the contest (up to 3 images can be submitted anyway).

Hi all,

Thanks for all your reply.

I had enrolled to participate in the contest but the results will only be released on 3rd Dec.

Hi Stonston,

Yes, the prize is mainly for the wedding couple rather than for the photographer if they win. So, in terms of rewarding the photographer, I think everything is pretty much negotiable. On top of that, I hope that it can also be a kind of recoginition to the photographers if they won the contest. Hopefully, there's some publicity... Then, to the couple, even if they didn't win, it will be still be a special occasion to mark the opening of T3 & once in a lifetime experience...

Hi Virgo.

Thanks for your quote.

Will revert back to you on 3rd Dec upon the outcome of the results.

Hi Piano Dancer,

Yes, I agree with you that the photographers can consider 'selling' the rights of your images to the couple. It will pretty much depends on the terms negotiated between both willing parties.

Till then, counting down... Only 30 couples will be selected...

Hmm i dont think the photographer is credited when used by CAAS. So. in terms of usage, would that not be meaning that CAAS is using the images for a commercial usage with simple copyright "snatching" from the couple without needing to deal with the sale of rights with the photographer? Not trying to dampened the couple's chances, But if the rights of the images are handed over to the couple then to the CAAS, then the photographer cannot actually use the images to his/her advantage or for his portfolio where personal gains can be achieved isnt it?

Just my thoughts.

So does this mean we can crash T3 on the 14th of December and shoot the couples there?

eh... but why would u want to do that?
:dunno:
if u really like to shoot couples that much, u can camp at ROM..
lots of couples for u to shoot.
:)

hrmm .. i posted this in the other exactly the same thread in kopitiam.

As pianodancer has said, a potential thing to note here, for both the couple, and the photographer, is the copyrights of the images produced.

Most photographers and studios do have a clause in their contracts/service agreements that state explicitly that the copyright of the images belong to them (and not the couple). Mine says "The Photographer claims a "right of restraint" to prohibit the use of images commissioned for domestic use being used for commercial purposes without prior written agreement. Requests for commercial use of photographs are to be submitted for approval. An additional fee may be payable.".

Using the images for a photographic competition may be something that you all would need to work out.

Hey photographers,

We are selected as one of the lucky couples out of the 33. Anyone willing to do the shoot for us? Need creative brains & people with good photography techniques. I have a few concepts in mind already. For the fun of it. Once in a lifetime experience, shooting in T3 transist area. Hopefully can get to shoot with the aeroplanes as well.

If we win, will give a BIG treat to the photographer. =)

ps: Anyway, only 3 photos need to be submitted. The rest will still stay copyrighted to the photographer.

Hi all,

Thanks so much on all your responses.. Unfortunately, we were not selected for this photoshot.

Hope if there's any chance, to work with you again.

Cheers
