Overexposure with Nikon 35TI

Hi all,

Am a newbie with the Nikon 35TI, and have been trying it out on P mode. The photos have come out quite overexposed... wondering if this may be a problem with the camera?

Thanks in advance!

Possibly. There are several possibilities that you could look into, as listed below:

1. Light leak from the film cover due to deteriorated light seals.
2. Light meter is off (can double check with another camera using same or similar lens)
3. Focusing screen had yellowed considerably (if meter is located inside prism housing)
4. Lens aperture mechanism is slow.
5. Mechanical shutter speed is off.
6. You accidentally set the exposure to +EV

Hope this helps.
