Okay lets talk about the oscars

Anyone feel unsettled about the results ?

Personally i thought hurt locker was an excellent film and deserved best picture.
Before all the avatar lovers throw spears my way, I thought avatar's storyline was a lil shallow and highly predictable. Plus the performances were a lil lack lustre. Still a great film just not as good as hurt locker. and i wasn't wowed by the 3D stereoscopic version either.

However I did think James Cameron should have won best Director. I thought he painted a pretty believable picture of Pandora and the flow of the story was smooth almost too smooth. Also his enthusiasm in using and new technologies such as simulcam and mo-capping on horses, to tell his story is highly inspiring from a tech geek point of view.

Another sore point, Avatar, Mauro Fiore winning best cinematography, i find it hard to associate great cinematography with a film shot 70% on green screen. Did he light the green well ? The White Ribbon should have won (even though i haven't seen it yet) from what i read in last months AC, it was shot in colour and timed to black and white and the stills look amazing, great use of shadows to tell the story.

also what was up with the sound? i couldn't hear the presenters half the time.
