The Original Sensor Swabs
Have you cleaned your CMOS/CCD Sensor recently? If not, you may not be getting optimum image quality from you camera. DSLR cameras are virtual dust boxes, and its almost impossible to keep your sensor free from dust without any maintenance on your part.
Sensor Swabs by Photographic Solutions Inc are designed for cleaning CCD chips and other delicate or hard to reach optical and imaging surfaces. Clean room manufactured and sealed, these swabs are the ultimate in purity.
Why should I DIY?
You can send you dSLR back to the manufacturer for sensor cleaning. However, you will be charged around $21-$28 per session. This does not include transport, parking, waiting time etc.
By cleaning the sensor yourself, you can save yourself the hassle of making your way down to the service centre and waiting for the technicians to perform this simple task for you. You can also save a considerable sum of money each time your clean your sensor (about 60% savings). Besides it's not hard at all.
Is it safe?
Manufacturers often warn you not to attempt to clean it yourself as you may scratch and damage the filter protecting the sensor. This is true if you use products not designed for the task.
Sensor swabs are individually packed in a clean room environment, and specifically designed to clean CCD/CMOS sensors. The process is not complicated simply open a pack and brush it over your sensor. The filter protecting your sensor is pretty thick and its actually very hard to scratch it using a soft swab.
Sensor swabs normally retail as a pack of 12 and cost about S$100. This is costly, especially if all you need is 1 piece, which usually gets the job done. In this offer, I am retailing these swabs INDIVIDUALLY for $10 a piece including postage to any address in Singapore. Each swab is good for 1 cleaning. Buy 2 pieces for a reduced price of $18 (ie $9 each)
