organisers who don't keep promises!!!

Anyone here have had bad experience with organisers? like promise of equipment etc but on the day nothing as promised. eg: relectors and lighting euipement & Model's make up and everything else not as theme!!

If the make up and hair are bad. Are we liable to demand the organiser redo it? How bad? you'll not believe it. ( this part i can accept due to diff MUA having diff sort of style) but the latter i am deeply concern and troubled!

Also i am just curious if it's common for the organiser to JOIN IN the shoot together with the PAID photographers? obvious there are 5-6 photographers already do you still fight for a place and of cos he(organsier gets the best angles)

I make it feels like he engage model for private shoot and "invite: us to pay to offset his expenses!

For the benifit of the community i think we should do some weeding!

then we have to define what is a mass orgy, to me 3 is a crowd already. besides that one more photographer means lesser eye contact, lesser exclusitivity. im not being uptight about it but being an organiser is being an organiser not a photographer, why shoot when others are paying you to do something for them, not with them.

and not condemning any organisers, if they get to enjoy so much shooting and get paid at the same time, its really lucrative (of course not forgetting the hardwork in planning). i seriously would suggest that do not shoot, at least they can concentrate on the surroundings, lighting etc etc etc blah blah

just like models getting paid but when they demand they get back the nice nice photos most photographers succumb to it too:bsmilie:

i am not sure of the disclosing part but we can check with the TS if the organiser did disclose if any, and from other experienced shooters who are informed of the pre discussed details. if they were factored as a photographer, then there should be one less slot, maybe he can get a cut to shoot for his organisation effort

In this case, how do we define mass orgy. For me 3 models. 24 photogs. That is mass orgy. I prefer 1 model. Max 8 photogs. That for me is optimal.

nothing wrong for organizer to join in as long as it does not disrupte the shoot or give u a sense that he is hogging the model to himself. ts either name the org u du lan with and why or close the thread because its pointless to just complain about faults in general here without any aim of improving things.

you are right. i've been to ivan's shoot before hence that was my expection and the failure to deliver as promise like reflectors and lighting but on the day itself he says dun have also LL.

anyway, i think its imptto note that while i don't mind the organiser join in but he should have make known or at least ask for permission or shoot after we've all done so.

I can't seem to find his advert on CS. btw it happened yesterday should give you a rough hint!! i am highlighting this for the better of the community not to get cheated!!

Ahya, this isn't the FIRST time organisers cork up. . .

i have been to others shoot saying that , there will be refreshments and light snack and some free club entry. But in the end dont have. Somemore Weather was so hot . BUT also no choice. Pay already just shoot , next time dont go back.

Anyway, i don't see him organise already as he keep changing his Model Agency Name. And Steal ppl's pics without consent. If you guys know who he is. . .

Now that I am reading this and will like to apologise for the delay. We sent in reminders and phones calls to the models on the time and date to report. They acknowledged and agreed but when comes to the day of shoot, somehow somewhat something happened and can't turned up. We have no choice but to find an urgent replacement.

We do hope that such things won't happen again and it won't benefit us in anyways as well.

Personally, I am not a photographer for one but however, in anyways agreed, otherwise stated, it should be fulfilled.

For example, there is this shoot organised by X offering entries to Zouk for a fashion show but unfortunately, there are some issues concerning free passes with the club management so I tried to compromise and provide another fashion event at St James for the photographers so at least it can be compromised. I hoped CS bros managed to get a good shot that night.

Feedbacks such as ratio of models to photographers have also been taken into account after this short period we learnt about organsing theme shoots, we also reduced the ratio from 1:5 instead of the usual 1:6.

Some models are expensive, some models are within budget so we tried to compromise between the cost of models and the registration of photographers. Make little and move on with it...

We do have some difficulties putting trust on photographers, stating that they will turn up for shoot and pay on that day but at the end, there are a few occasions, we made a lost and proceed with the shoot due to them not turning up.

I guessed this is events and there is no such thing as a perfect event but there will always be room for improvements.

It was a great experience for us and at least we learnt something new.

I will want to open up an apology for this drink matter as I have my personal reasons for it but nothing to do with the budgeting. It won't happened again with my assurance. Sorry about it.

I am not sure if TS is targeting at me but however, I will want to apolgoise for some errors of my own but be assured that I will see to the improvements.
