Omd/epl5 and what lenses.?

Ruggedness, OVF, cheaper (entry level DSLR) and cheaper & more choices of lenses (though not necessary better unless it's the higher grade ones) & accessories (flash & 3rd party), more reliable C-AF, APS-C & full frame sensor gives a shallower DOF which can be useful for portraits, better ergonomics generally esp against the Oly pens & Pana GF series, battery life.

These are the advantages of DSLR over m43 or mirrorless as a whole at this moment.

DSLR compliment m43 No, I don't have a dslr anymore. I sold it as the benefits of mirrorless outweighs those of DSLR for me at least. I do have different mirrorless systems to "compliment" each other:)

haaaa.... good for you... save you a lot of body ache..... my thought is that I get all prime setup for my DSLR.... more for Potrait shots and maybe scenery shot, alo maybe get a not too ex zoom lens for important event shooting.... dont think got the skill yet to use mirorless to shoot event ... and the mirorless... all things else.... walkaorund and generally shooting...

My setup?

I, too, gave up on my DSLR and switched to m43 (specifically, Oly OMD E-M5) recently.
The biggest deal breaker was the weight issue. Previously, my gear comprised of EOS 60D, 50mm/1.8, 17-55/2.8 and 70-300.
Everywhere I go, I had to lug along everything in my 7MDH and it was a real torture during my recent HK trip.
Upon my return, I couldn't wait make the switch. I am now extremely happy (so is my shoulder and back) with my m43 setup:
- Oly OMD E-M5
- 12-50 kit lens
- Panny 12-35/2.8
- Panny 35-100/2.8
All these fits nicely into my ThinkTank Retro 5 with room to spare.

To be honest, the quality of the shots are comparable to my previous DSLR combo.
I couldn't be happier after the conversion.

Somehow for M43, I prefer the prime lens. In my stable: Panny 14mm, 20mm, 25mm and 1 zoom 14-140 to cover everything else.

in terms of IQ and AF... is 20/1.7 or 25/1.4 better??

Also letssay one have the 12-35/2.8... still make sense to get the above??

I thk 25 better to answer ur question. But 25 is twice as large physically.

I wld still get the 20 even if I hv 12-35 bec I often carry a compact setup with good low light capability.
