Olympus XA

I'm thinking of getting the Olympus XA or XA4. so have anyone tried using it before? what's its pros and cons?

Hi,

Xa & xa4's are classic clamshell cameras.

I prefer xa4. Zone focus, 28mm lens, much more contrasty.
Xa's have somewhat squinty viewfinders rangefinder patch difficult to see.

Xa4's much more difficult to find & costly.

Yup, XA4 is hard to find but the only model with the 28mm lens.
I have XA and XA2. I think the XA2 is better value for money... about 1/2 the price of the XA. And yeah, the XA is not necessarily easy to focus. With the XA2, there are only 4 settings... so its more like a set-and-shoot sort of camera.

When I use these cameras I want to be able to be more spontaneous... and the XA2 allows me to do that, whereas i find the XA makes me approach it like a regular RF camera... in which case I might as well just my Bessa-R.

i have the whole series of XAs, still like the XA4 for the 28mm lens and compactness. and yes, it is also claimed to double up as a pro's backup camera in some of the websites dedicated to olympus xa series.

that's why i'm selling the XA2 but people seems to prefer slr these days.

Hi all,

I have a Olympus XA but the meter is not working
and it drain battery very quickly so i only put in the
battery when i am shooting for the day, if not i will
have it remove.

Where can i send the camera for repair ?
Any recommendation ?
