why should you get an NEX?

Noticed u wrote "an NEX" instead of "a NEX". Does dat mean "NEX" is not meant to be pronounced as a word but rather as separate alphabets, i.e. an N-E-X instead of a nex(t)? Btw wat does NEX stand for?

it's supposed to be N-E-X not Nex as most people pronounce it.

NEX stands for Newbie Experiencing XXX

So lame....couldn't they have come out with something better? Even something like MCE (mirrorless compact experience) also can. Then de models will be e3, e5, etc. Just like SLT is for de translucent mirror range and their models are a33, a55, etc. where a is (presumably) referring to a mount.

SLR = Single-Lens Reflex
SLT = Single-Lens Translucent

to be consistent, IMO NEX should be something like SLM = Single-Lens Mirrorless

or maybe SLT should be A-mount Translucent Experience ... ATE :D

Will the NEX 7 have the pano feature that is in the other nex cams??

Cheers:)

Haha...nice one

i'm swayed more to the A65 compared to the a77 due primarily to the price difference which will be a lot more once it is converted to sgd$, my only gripe with the a65 is the lack of a vertical grip which i hoped sont would have at least provide since this is a high mp cam and fully electronic which requires lots of power and coming from an a500 whivh has a verticap grip support.. it doesnt make sense that this option was left out by sony..

but then again if i have enough budget to get the a77.. or go for a 2nd hand a850 full frame since most of the things i shot doesnt require the features on the soon to be available slts and owning a full frame alpha no matter how old the technology seems ok given the fact that it also boast 24mp sensors

A65 have the same AF system as A33/55/35, which is not same as the newer, faster 19pt AF system on A77.

Furthermore, i am very sure A65 will have much lesser customisation than A77, knowing the style of Sony like what happened to A500/550/580/55, no matter what new technology built into them, their customisation still cannot match the old A700. (ie noise control, iso auto settings, or even the new AF zone control on A77).

A65 will sure have the Image quality as A77, but when it comes to the number of ways you can tweak it, i am sure A77 has lots more to offer, other than better built quality and VG option.

To add on, A77 has AF micro adjustments while A65 has not.

That's the main reason why i am interested in A77...lucky double 7.

Yes, the number 7 is lucky number to Japanese, just like what number 8 is to chinese.
