What happen if a police stop you for identification, and you are without NRIC or Driving License or a Birth Certificate ? Can you ask Brother Policeman to go home with you to view your identity paper ?

Will telling them you are a member of Clubsnap helps ? :)

can. not a problem although it's going to make your neighbours peek out of their doors to see their friendly neighbour in the company of police constable. At least carry your driving license with you when you go out.

For military, it's an offense NOT to have your 11B with you. Can get charge by MPs

from what i know, NRIC is not an offense, but not having your driving license is when pulled over in a car (roadblock, etc).

If you are afraid of losing them... I know some people do this... that is to photocopy both their NRIC and Driving License onto a A4 paper and carry that sheet of 'identity' paper out...

I got stopped once by the Police (Road Block) and did not have me driving license with me. They then proceeded to ask for my I/C and with the particulars, they radioed HQ to do a check on me. Found nothing wrong and they let me go.

So I think there is a grey area regarding this topic.

Point is: Always carry your IC or any other form of identification with you at all times.

11B for my instance.:D

u are damn lucky...

i think the police were looking out for something else....may be some criminal suspects or drug traffickers...so they dun bother to catch u drive w/o carrying license

Was the need to carry IC ever a law at some stage in Singapore's history? Keep hearing about this especially in the old days.

In HK, it is a must...

I think better bring along everywhere you go... I was told that I must bring my employment pass and my M'sia IC where ever I am out in Singapore, because the EP don't have photo so they need to use my M'sia IC with photo to determine my id.

In M'sia must bring IC if out. If caught without it then got free ride home and show them your IC...

For me i dun dare to bring my ic. I bring my matriculation card instead. I've lost my pinky 3 times and my 11-b twice already... Anybody know how many more times can i lose my IC beofre i lose my citizenship or sumthing?
