Hi,

I dropped my Fuji O-ring grease for my Fuji Underwater housing into the sand and contaminated it. I tried squeezing it out - but there are still some sand particles inside.

I went out looking for the Fuji grease tube - but no one seems to stock it - not in Peninsula, Funan or Adelphi. Haven't tried Mscolor yet...

But I went to Sea and Sea and got the O-ring grease. Would it work the same? I would hate to find out at 30m that it doesn't.

Hi,

I'm usin the Sea and Sea silcon O-ring grease. the Yellow Tube one recommended by the shop owner.

Just still wondering whether it is the appropriate one. I couldn't locate a shop that sold the original.

May I know how much did you pay for it?

oceanicfocus does have different type of grease available.
From OEM to Sea & Sea.
8-25 I think.

hey Dylan,

Can those silicon grease from those dive shops like aquaseal be used?

I got mine from ScubaCam..... they sell Ikelite #0184.7 Silicone Lube.... Dirt cheap. 5 small tube for a dollar. Each tube is enough to grease your casing 'O' ring. I use it for both my camera + Strobe 'O' ring.

Hope this helps.....

I dun advise using those..
Not too sure the silicon content from the grease, unless your O-rings are made of pure rubber and not silicon based o-rings.

1 tube per usage?:o

ikelite grease are very very small tubs.

personally i prefer to get those bigger tub ones from oceanic focus.. last much longer

Yup.... small tube. Like those used and throw eye drop thingy. At $1 SGD for a pack of 5, I think it is quite ok. I just have to grease camera + strobe 'O' ring once or twice only for the whole trip. A $1 pack will last for at least 2-3 trip. ;)
