i posted this on rff but its a bit slow getting some answers...
anyone here can help?

normally my xpan would show the number of film shots left on the electronic dial.

lately, it has just been showing a P letter

could someone tell me if something is wrong?
or what is going on with my xpan?
perhaps a setting is off?
thanks

no settings. if you have film loaded and the remaining exposure count is not there, it might mean that your film has not been taken up by the spool. if that is the case, the "missing" count would be one give away, but you should also be able to tell based on the film forwarding. on pano, you should hear a the film advancing for about 1sec. whereas, if the film was not spooled properly, the sound would only be a split sec.

if however, you film is loaded correctly and advancing properly, then you have a different set of problems with the cam...

Catus, you got yourself a XPAN?

Sorry Mark for OT... ;)

It came all the way from London, I think...
i will neither confirm or deny such an allegation...

all i'll say is that you don't need to have a xpan to know how a xpan works, likewise for the other rfs... but it sure helps if you have one... ;)

haagen_dazs - i not sure if my previous comments helped at all...

mark, cactusjack is right about it. The P stands for pano i think. If there's no number, it means the film has not been taken up. This should be easy to spot on an xpan since it winds all the film onto the spool on loading.
