Hi folks,

I just wonder why there is no single sigma lens available with SSM feature for minolta mount.
Just a few month ago i purchased a 24-70/2.8 Sigma and the distance encoder for ADI is working perfektly! Thus I have no doubt sigma would be able to include SSM alias HSM for Minolta as well, what do you think?
The Minolta 70-200 SSM is now out for more than a year (or even longer?), but it's price is really horrible! (At the price of this lens I can switch to Canon 70-200 plus an EOS 3  ) Therefore I'm really courious if in the near future we sill see something like a Sigma 70-200/2.8 or 100-300/4 or even 120-300/2.8 ;p with HSM for Minolta... as the Dynax7D seems also to become reality Minolta is really missing some new (and affordable) tele-lenses (maybe an updraded 400/4.5 SSM ? ;) ? )

that's just my wish-list for santa claus this year :D

Hmm....

The Dynax 7 with the Sigma 70-200mm APO already feel as if there is SSM....
Silent and fast.....its really fun tracking moving subject....on continuos focus..
;) - maybe bcos of the IF.....smaller size mass to focus....less weight thus its fast.....

Rgds,

... in fact I could live without SSM for this sigma 70-200, but this sigma lens seems to be without D feature (am I wrong?) -- what a pitty :(

I just shot some pictures in a zoo with flash 5600D and Sigma 24-70/2.8 and 100-300/5.6D ... behind glass, in front of reflecting walls and so on... and the ADI result were very impressing compared to some shots with the old 80-200/2.8

Sigma 70-200 f2.8 is one of the favourite glass around, and it is getting old (4-5yrs at least?).. we might see a revision soon hopefully!!

Sigma 70-200 f2.8 HSM for Minolta

Agreed with Sulhan, silent and fast. In fact, more silent than the 80-200 :sweatsm:

Just came back from Thailand trip. Impressive findings.
