No new DSLR releases from Pentax?

Lets not forget the *ist D/DS/DL/DL2/DS2 era too quickly...

That I attribute to Pentax's difficulty in getting a suitable sensor. So the models were essentially the same with subtle differences.

Just stay on tight in your camp to wait and wait if you can

However, if cannot resist.........just jump la! :bsmilie:

:think:where is good to jump in?

So - tell me how to get a weathersealed, 24-75mm effective, f/2.8, stabilized, lens + body from anywhere else? :p

I'm not too sure, but i think there are from Nikon.

You mean this one? ;)

That's make me wonder how come they never have one in silver and black like the DS.

Yeah, I'm still own a DS and it's doing fine.

Erh. Who ever said they weren't doing fine? But that's the worst example of a "warmed over" product line that I can think of, in ANY industry.

1yr? too long la.. pentax need to release something interesting in the next 4 months, else it will be forgotten once again. (just like before the K10)

Dun worry, better they slow and steady and come with a better product than rush on head to head with C & N.
Few days ago, C camp was in a jubilant mode when 40D and 1dsmkIII announced,
now after Nikon had show their. U can sense the negative aura from the C camp.
not only here in Cs but across all around the world.

so cheer up

Thanks Mr Eow for the reassuring statement. Yes Nikonians now have reason to rejoice...... but not for long before some other new announcements are made ....... ;)

Actually being first isn't necessarily better. Pentax can monitor consumer demand for the new gear from Canon and Nikon and avoid making expensive mistakes producing gear that might have mixed consumer acceptance.

Forgotten by who?? Photographers or technogeeks?

This is true..Let N & C fight it out and pentax will come out with something affordable with lots of features just like when the 10D was released

Long live Pentax!!!

Long live Pentax!!!

I got a pentax K2 SLR in 1974.... it cost me $800 and the cam is still with me. Solid as rock but cannot only steady as rock and cannot move with time.... digital is something nobody can combat. There is no end to it...

Pentax must move very fast or else it fate will be like Minolta+konica= Sony

Lol.

It might be interesting, having the photo (dslr) division of Pentax being bought from Hoya by Samsung.

Unlikely though - and even stuff like sensor availability might be compromised. Note that Japanese companies now have 100% (right?) of the dslr market...
