actually it is fortunate Loshen is still processing E6.. it is so timely, he started not long ago bcos there is no more LF E6 and then now all are gone!
he said he is charging the cost only.. due to the expensive chemical.. and i think his processor is not optimised in using chemical also..
any of you interested maybe can gang up with him and develop something .. who knows maybe e-6 will come alive again.. haha
DIY is both good and bad.. i tried the Tetenal 3 bath.. i had 2 errors so far, the first one i produced 2 blank pinkish slides.. the second one is worst, 6 dark color slides.. i think i got lax in temperture control at the 2nd error.. till now i have no idea what caused the 2nd error
Then i tried the 6 bath for the remaining 15 sheets of provia and kodak slides.. had to do 3 rounds to finish all my slides.. all come out ok, but there is flow mark each time in at least one slide.. for one slide which i like alot, there is a yellow flow mark in the blue sky.
didn't really see any diff in the end result between using 3 bath and 6 bath.. but it is alot cheaper to buy 6 bath chemical together with loshen and sweat100 gang and share compare to buying 3 bath from ebay. The time i spend on the 6 bath is about one hour.. preparing the chemical took maybe 30min.. but if you shoot alot, you can prepare larger quatity of chemical (known as working solution i think) so you don't have to repeat this boring process... my one hour dev time can be shorten if i prepare a big water bath and heat all the chemicals there and then cool them down to the required temp before poring in.. and if i get a roller to roll my drum it will be even more comfortable..
the good about DIY is you do not need to wait.
my first 4 slides are processed by losheng... no marks at all.. perhaps this is one good thing about using machine.. i still got no idea why the marks are there..
