Nikon DL18-50: best cam for gimbal?

why did they do a fixed lens camera? won't it just be an upgrade of normal compact camera?

The zoom range makes it very unique. 1" sensor allows for the lens to be small yet offering wideangle zoom at f1.8-f2.8
I think the mix of features makes it a very useful camera for many situation. Of course, Nikon hope you will buy both DL cameras to cover 18-85mm range. Interesting to see if other mamufacturers will offer similar compacts with even wider angles. 14-35mm anyone?

noted with thanks =)

now ... i remember a technology previously proposed which one can plug a small device into camera (it records movements, and helps to stabilise when footage back in post, something with a gyro of sorts?) ... isn't it better that the camera makers use such tech rather than fixed lens small bodies (for gimbals) or 5-axis stabilisation for that matter?

one move to wipe out all gimbal makers =D
