yes, i'm also looking at this lens. this one should be imported set. :)

Please check your pm.

price range currently around $800 - $850 with warranty. Lowest i found is around $735 for a grey set.

I bought one with international warranty in Japan (Osaka) at $710. This is the only piece of Nikon lens that I found to be cheaper than if bought in Singapore.

I bought some stuff from B&H online... first you need to fork out US$30-US$50 (depending on weight) for courier. Don't trust USPS coz I had a book order from Amazon.com totally lost in space - though Amazon.com was kind enough to give me a full refund based on my words.

And then when it arrives... guess what - you have to pay 7% GST. UPS must collect it first before they release the package.

Throw in the fact that warranty is for US only. You have to re-consider esp. when buying expensive stuff.

The Nikon lens should be covered with international warranty, in this case B&H is under authorised dealers, so Nikon Singapore should honour it. Right?

If you refer to the link, you will notice that the international warranty is as good as not having.

http://www.nikon.com.sg/warranty.php

"During this period, repairs or adjustments will be made free of charge only upon presentation of the Nikon Worldwide Local Warranty Card (Copy 'C', customer's portion) together with the purchase receipt or other evidence of purchase to the authorized Nikon Service Facilities from your country of purchase.
(e.g. If you purchase your camera from USA, you will need to approach Nikon USA for all technical support and servicing.)"

B&H is/equals USA issued receipt right?

Cheers:)

Thanks, good sharing points.

I see that the lenses are covered under Worldwide warranty policy(2nd half of the page).

Since BH Photo & Video is one of Nikon USA authorised dealers, Nikon Singapore should honour the warranty.

An email which I wrote to Nikon Singapore.

7% GST is charged on any good imported which total cost (including shipping) exceeds S$400, so it's not a fault of USPS. Of course, if your order did not exceed S$400 and they charged you GST, there is a problem.

Yeah the 1 year standard international warranty will be covered by Nikon Singapore or USA or anywhere you go. As long as it is a international warranty card issued by Nikon USA and stamped by an authorized USA dealer, the warranty will be honoured.

However, the 4 year extended warranty is USA local warranty, so that won't be honoured by Nikon Singapore.
