dun screw the hood on too tight. when i tried to remove the hood on mine, even front part of the lens started unscrewing.

HI Fabianaino, what's the current price for the 85mm f/1.4 now?

Is the hood opening threaded in the first place?
not really threaded, but its not impossible to mount a filter. i've tried to mount a 86mm filter on the 80-200mm HS metalhood before, didnt screw it on hard but it felt like it would stay if i forcibly screw it (at the expense of scratching the hood of course)

but i decided to throw the whole idea out put a filter between the lens & hood instead with hood permanantly attached coverd with 86mm lens cap.

Thks for the advice. =) I have decided to leave the hood on permanently. Now the wording on the hood and my filter lines up nicely facing upwards. =)

That's if you have space in your dry cabinet and your bag.. Since you already have your filter there, the hood will screw in the same way next time and the wordings will still be in the same orientation. So you could actually remove the hood.
