when I was deciding between a f/1.4d or f/1.4g about 3 weeks ago, i was quoted by samuel at john 3:16 for the d version at $530. i am not sure about now but it should hover around that range.

G lenses don't have an aperture ring. D lenses have an aperture ring and usually use the Camera's motor to autofocus. The new 50mm "G" has an AF-S motor instead. The 35mm DX is similar to the 50mm G and has a similar field of view on DX format cameras but there's vignetting and soft corners if used on a full-frame Nikon.

nvm. when i buy this so i can ask it. i think should be international warraty.
same like canon for lens only.
body is local warranty.

cause it's new, not the 2nd hand. the price always at $420++ but without warranty also.

Brand new lenses bought oversea have 1 year international warranty provided there is a nikon international warranty card with dealer's stamp. Just take note.

what is the diff between f/1.4d and f/1.4g beside the price

sorry to ask I am still new to lens....
I was also looking at the new 35mm 1.8

to campared from 1.4d & 1.4g
but more benefit is from 1.4G cause it lens have built in Motor.
can be use with d40 & d40x , d60 also.

1.4d is cheaper to compare the price from 1.4g
1.4G almost at $840~860
1.4D at $540~560 still is cheaper lah. both also made in china.
no difference.
if u get 35mm F/1.8G , when u upgrade to FF
maybe u think still early u just have d40 or d60, but at the end u got money to upgrade.. kekeke~~
so it's waste, u have to find for 50mm 1.4d or 1.4G also.
