Nex-7 review on DPR is out

It adds about one cm to the height and probably six mm to the overall thickness at the grip, although ... grip on the 7 can't be beat

Is it really 1cm an not just 2mm or so? Is 1cm enough to improve the handling?

Thanks for the shots! I might get one now. :-)

I got the HorusBennu from here

The Gariz's nicer but the HorusBennu is much more affordable.

PS: I think we're all OT !!! ;)

True but how cares about the 7 anyway? :-#

Sony NEX-7 Review: 1. Introduction: Digital Photography Review

wonder how many of you with the 5N will get the 7 - for me the tilting evf is indispensable but think the 7 provides a better grip for my hand and of course those two dials on top...
oh yes, proper hotshoe but that record button is still in the same position where your thumb will press on it unintentionally...

There's too much differences between the 5N and 7 sensors for the 7 to be considered an upgrade to the 5N.
One is the best low light/High ISO, APS-C King and the other is the highest resolution, APS-C monster challenging FF.

If you mean replace the 5N with the 7 then no, I'm not one of them, the 5N is just too good not to have.
But that doesn't mean I will not be getting a 7, in fact, the consideration is between the A77, Nex7 and A65.

Points to consider:
#1) Which will be available first, the Nex7 or the A77/A65 fw version 2.0
#2) Do I want to be kinder to my back ? ...the Nex7 wins in terms of weight followed by the A65.
#3) Look good, feel good factor ? ...the A77 wins hands down ;)

etc, etc.

for trips I've experience it A77 plus grip will kill your back =) I think if you're travelling with your spouse only you can bring a big monster A77/A65 but with kids it's not recommended. Thats why now I am thinking maybe getting a 2nd body (NEX5n/Nex7) for my travels and for my MF lenses =)

And also during my trip I've noticed the 1680 is 99% being utlized I was carrying my 50mm f1.4, 18200 and the Samyang FE I think I've used the 50mm f1.4 during a show where it's dark and need a fast lens and the FE only used onc to shoot the hotel lobby, the rest was in my bag only adding to the burden lolz oh also I have a flash with me as we did night family portraits. Lesson learn for me travelling with kids bring ligth gear as possible.

I know a lot of people berate the high iso performance of the 7 even before its available to users but this is a production comparison :

not so different after all

I'm reserving my judgement and comments on the 7 until it's available and I've spent some time shooting with it.

DP reviews are good for tech reviews and all but most people do not shoot that way on a day to day basis, most folks will just shoot and be done with the Jpg SOOC. (I used to insist on shooting only RAW for the best IQ until I realised how much time it's costing me)

SO far, all the 7 Jpg OOC samples I've seen says otherwise.
