full frame sensor will cost a bomb unless Minolta manufacture its own?

I hope I can afford it when it finally arrive.

it is just a comment by the management right. That was what it mentioned at the bottom of the thread in dpreview.

Hope it will materialised.

If I'm not mistaken, Canon makes their own full frame sensor for the 1Ds. It still costs $12000. IOW, it will still cost a bomb no matter who makes it.

I dun mind something like the EOS300D..... as long as it has the same feature set as the Dynax 7.. I'm rather hoping that Minolta will launch a 2/3 frame CCD using the Dynx 7 body......

This is the translation using Babel Fish... only thing I can make some head or tail of is the date Spring 2004 (which is April traditionally) and that a DSLR (and it will be lens-exchangeable type) will be launched by Minolta-Konica and that it seems that they are going in in a big way.....

Konica and Minolta managing integrating in August, the コニカミノルタホールディングス which starts <４９０２> executed business reorganization on the 1st, started real. As for President rock staying Fumio as for the digital camera it was complete the stock to spring of 2004 to 14 days according to the collection of data of the Jiji Press, Ltd., it showed the attitude which enters into lens exchange type single-lens reflex and during the same year. As for the gross sales in China, the policy to 08 of pulling up to 100000000000 Yen of 02 ratio approximately 4 times. Main exchanging is as follows. (Current events communication)

My requirement is slightly different.. I don't mind if its introduce any new technology different from existing DSLR in market. As long as I feel like I'm hold and use a dynax 7, just instead of dot-matrix, its a color LCD.. simple!!!!

The important thing to me is price, and that they can still use the old minolta A mount lens........

My wish list:

1) Dynax 7 body and features.
2) Uses all Dynax 7 accessories
3) AF mount lens compatible
4) Anti-Shake in camera body
5) 2.5 inch TFT colour LCD screen, super high resolution
6) LCD screen switchable to B&W for review of data/settings (save battery)
7) Use of rechargeable lithium/alkaline/Ni-MH AA batteries
8) 2/3 sized CCD (to keep price affordable)

I really really really really hope that the price would not top $2000.

Guys, add what u want to this list... I'm quite modest in my demands cos I dun have $10K to blow on a single camera body! And I dun need it! :D

2) Use all dynax 7 assessories including the VC-7
9) mag. ratio 1.0 implies full frame or greatest ratio at 1.3
10) Aspect ratio 3:2 and not 4:3
11) Can use bulb without limitation (with exception of battery juice) unlike the 30 sec max on A1
12) USB 2.0

I do not mind paying 5-6k f or it if it is a full frame. Compare with canon 1Ds, it is consider cheap.

13) min burst of 3 continous frame/sec at one go

believe me, you need all these things.

Ditto pts 11-13. Pt 9 no need lar..... but if Minolta want to sell in 2 flavors also can...... :D i.e. one version with full size CCD and the other 2/3 size.......

Pt 10 - what's the diff? 4:3 is the normal aspect ratio so if want to print out to keep, it makes life a lot easier......

4:3 is good for monitor viewing. But in my view on a hard copy, a 3:2 format is better.

If you send a 4:3 digital file to a FDI printer, you will realised that the hard copy will be cropped to a 3:2 hard copy print out. Sometimes I find it quite troublesome or undesirable to crop things that I want to show people. A remedy to that problem is to crop the pictures to a 3:2 before sending it to FDI. Time consuming process and I hated it.

But dun most of the labs like minilabs print using the most commonly found formats like 3R, 4R, etc? These would be 4:3 ratio aren't they?

4R means 4 inch by 6 inch which is equivalent to 3:2 format. If you check all the DSLR, they are in 3:2 flavour not 4:3. This is to facilitate hard copy printing. I absolutely have no idea why manufacturers want to venture into 4:3 format. Please enlighten me.

The last rumour I heard suggested that it would be using the same sony 1.5x sensor used in the *ist D and D100.

Personally, I'm hoping for someone to come up with a camera with square sensors(and the appropriate viewfinder). Don't have to bother about verticle grips and flash brackets in this case.;)

Please don't use this chip. quite noisy chip from what I see from the review at dpreview with regards to the D100 review.

The istD got pretty good reviews though..... Anyway 1.5x is not too bad is it?
