Nika, First off, Welcome to the sub-forum. Hoe you'll enjoy your stay here. :)

Well you can buy My C5050 from me with no accessories at half the price.!!!! ;)

Well we've had alot of discussion regarding Canon and Olympus for a long time. I guess the most important thing would be our need at that time. Ultimately it is the photographer that counts and of course the equipment plays a part in it.

I'm using a Olympus C5050z and personally, besides the shutter lag and rather poor macro performance, compared to the DSLR systems, it is a wonderful cam. Shooting wide angle in raw yields sharp and detailed results. (maybe it is just the optics of the INON wide angle lense)

None the less, Canon has it's own followers, so will the C5060 players :bsmilie: Everyone will justify their purchase to the most effective one. However The most important thing is to understand the feature and handling of the camera.
You can achive alot with the internal flash alone.

An example of the the canon prowess is our resident "male model" kng who shoots with just a modest A70 and produces exceptionally stunning results in Video. You can alo look at his wonderful still results on his maldivian morays thread. The winner of the first UCWS photo contest was also a canon user, rifraf with his A75/internal strobe only.

I'm not sure when will out next UWCS SEED *nudges beivied*:p, but you're welcome to come and join us for a feel of the various camera systems used in this subforum

Happy New year btw.

Cheers

Hi Nika

i think there is an article on choosing your first u/w camera system somewhere in this forum. ;)

also u can buy the C5050 + full accessories at $4k from Waisj as well. At least u can be assured of his quality of pics posted in this forum.
