Newbie here .

Hi , i'm a total newbie in videography. Was wanting to get a camcorder for personal use, was wondering which camcorder should i get , i have a budget of 600 dollars.

I'm looking for HD , sound quality , image quality, low-light camcorder. Don't want those laggy laggy videos or low quality like those that is use in nokia phones in the past.

can advise me on which camcorder to get?

For $600, I recommend Panasonic SDX1. Probably the only camcorder that shoots 3 different types of codec. (AVCHD, MP4 and iFrame) Aside from ease of editing, the video in 720p MP4 is quite remarkable for a consumer camera. Excellent Hybrid OIS. But have to order from Australia.

If you want a totally idiot proof cheap and good full auto camcorder, JVC HM30 can be had for under $400 at Mustafa. Shoots only 720p AVCHD lite. OIS is very good.
