hi folks,
posting a newbie question. if it is in the wrong section moderator pls help to move to the correct section. thanks

recently kana tekan by boss to flim a short clip for company event.. i basically have 0 idea how to do it.

1) is there anyway to change the view of the flim.. since 2-3 of my clip is taken at portrait format.. when i use real player to watch it.. it is in landscape format..

2) anyway website/video that teaches me how to do video editing ? adobe preimre 5.5 trial version. been surfing on youtube only a few clip is helpful.

thanks.
i hate kana arrow

taking photo and video is just different..

I know iMovie can do it easily ie. rotating video orientation but I am not sure about Adobe Premiere, though I think it shouldn't be a problem.

Nothing beats hands on, and playing around with the software, or have someone teach you the basics, on the spot.

;);)

Hi Jing,
If u're hired by yr boss as an editor , then it's yr job to edit the video, & if that's not yr job, then u can post in CS asking for quotes to do the job, ask yr boss to select one of the quotes & get it done properly, & u'll also be doing the bros here a favor by getting some jobs for them :)

In case u'd still wanna DIY, theres plenty of trial programs around but from the info u provided, it seems u'll face a great challenge to learn from scratch & produce a gd video in time. I'd suggest get yr boss pay one of the bros here to do the job :)

Hi!!

Premier pro can rotate your still images even video.. Click on the clip and change your working window panel to effects. Play around the figures! Just take note premier is unlike Photoshop u can click and drag to your liking.. Instead its numbers

Hope this helps

TS already mentioned kenna arrow and with no budget though.... i doubt they're gonna spend the cash to purchase premiere pro

u can try after effects, its much more versatile, although somehow i didnt have any reason to take any clips in potrait mode, but ya, after effects is so versatile its shocking!

1. Open new composition - put in your clip
2. Select your clip
3. Hit "R" button, and rotate

done :D
