Hi All RangeFinder Fans,

Cosina/Voigtlander has just released information and pricing of their new products.

2 New Lenses to go along with the new R4M/A, the 21mm/f4 P-Type (M mount) & the 25mm/f4 P-Type (M-mount). Both do not come with Finder. I believe these 2 lenses are targeted to be used with the R4M/A which comes with the 21mm & 25mm framelines. Both are RANGEFINDER COUPLED ! That means you can focus with these 2 lenses. The older screw mount 25mm is non-rangefinder coupled.

Below are the specs:

The R3A Black is available but at limited number. Place your order now to avoid disappointment.

For pricing of the 2 lenses, R4M/A & R3A Black, please refer to my price list here .

Product pictures still not available. I will post once I have them.

Thank you for viewing.

Regards,
Chii Fei

is the older 21mm f/4 coupled for thre R4M?

Yes, the 21mm/f4 is coupled for all bodies.

Only 12mm, 15mm & 25mm are not rangefinder coupled.

hmm so whats the diff between the old one and the new one? :dunno:
i check the construction, seems to be the same 8 elements in 6 groups as well.

And they took off the VF but add a mount adapter ... still doesn't compute economics-wise :dunno:

They have not released the pics yet. What I believe P-Type is the "Pancake" type, which the exterior construction is different from the current 21mm & 25mm, and closer to the 35mm/f2.5 PII & 40mm/f1.4 type.

As I said, I have not seen it yet, just a guess.

Looking forward to seeing some pics from you or on cameraquest!

anyways...i also dont own a bessa now :bsmilie:

a bit OT here... but i just got a lens from Chiif... and i like to give him a thumbs up for excellent service :) the other thumb's reserved to see how if and when i need to call upon my warranty.. haha... but i think should be fine.. kekeke

so  for great service and more importantly for us consumers, good pricing!

Cheers :)

If he is the authorised agent to carry this brand in SG, then you should not have any problems with warranty issues as he should have the connection with Cosina/Voigtlander.

They only setback is that there is no service centre in SG here, so makes warranty claiming a time consuming factor as the agent needs to ship to Japan to and fro even for minor repairs. :(

Hope Chiif can assist in this area by maybe operate a service centre here or by means of 'loan' sets while waiting for the repairs. ;p

Thanks for the suggestion. As I am operating a small scale business here, my aim is to at least do basis servicing for common problems faced by customers. I will be carrying parts from April and I will be doing simple repair services after my training with Cosina in March.

Meanwhile, any problem with the product, I will send it back to Japan for repair. Turnaround normally is 3 weeks.

very interesting news, Do you have any lens block diagram for the 25mm, wonder if its configuration is like biogon design and not retrofocus.

Hope it isn't too much of a burden. Operating a company isn't easy, now going back to school to learn about repair work! Chiff, you are one dedicated person! And I'm not just saying that.

yeah.. imagine juggling with your work, family, passion in photography and worst of all, maybe one unhappy customer's gripes... haha... its quite a killer...

i for one can't even get my lazy ass out n shoot, even though i've the passion... but soon... haha... finally after so many months of not doing anything, got some rough idea in my mind.. hopefully it becomes something concrete...

chiif really do hope your business do well... :) and you make akilling out of it!! haha all the best :)

Yes, I have access to the parts info, but I can't release it to the public. If you are looking at the basic lens construction diagram, you can get it here:

http://www.cosina.co.jp/seihin/voigt/v-lens/v-l-m/index.html

Hope that helps in comparing the design with the biogon.
