Hiee..ndroo....
There is soo much question on cameras about indoor and outdoor...etc. Well to answer your question....its all about availability of lights (And in the digital realm....what type of light need to be considered too!!!). You can have a Room....with the following conditions...
(these are the preferred ones)
- Brightly lit - flourecent
- Brightly lit - incandescent
- Brightly lit - Mixed
- Brightly lit - large sun roof
- Brightly lit - loads of candles
......and many more brightly lit room.....
- which when you use your camera....
from the shutter speeds chosen by your camera...you can tell if the "brightly lit: is really bright enough.
- Then if the answer is great shutter speed to handhold (1/focal length)....then the next question....the white balance.....which should i choose??
- With indoor lighting....there will always be ...shadows issues....due to point sourced lighting...so you need to deal with this depends on taste.....with fill-in flash maybe...wireless flash chucked behind the tv maybe...etc...
(These are the not preferred ones...)- Badly lit - one candle - romantic
- Badly lit - Praying altar lights
- Badly lit - Disco...
- Badly lit - Only the TV is on
- Badly lit - Sunrise/Sunset outdoors....
....and the list goes on for badlit - seen by the camera as not enough light and hence i need longer shutter....OR you choose higher ISO...
Then in these non-ideal situations......your photography fundamentals will then be needed...you then need to think of these...
- Using flash + slow sync, rear sync...etc...
- Using tripod + long exposure
etc....
So if you want to ignore all the above stuff....then i'm afraid to say...not only the A1....maybe 95% of the camaras out there will disappoint you....for indor(specifically low lit) situations...
Have fun.....
