whoa. i never knew that. hahaha! thanks for the tip! i was wondering why my flash is always too powerful at night! :sweatsm:

No problem... glad to be of service... ;)

I don't seem to see the menu option for that, could you enlighten me here? :)

Pressing one of the direction buttons brings up a list of settings for one of the parameters. (The 'up' arrow brings up exposure compensation, followed by AE bracketing and flash compensation if pressed again).

Updated to V1.2 firmware. I noticed that the cam tend to underexpose when I shoot in "Vibrant" or "Dynamic" mode, is normal with "standard" film mode. I don't experience this with V1.1 and V1.0. So when is V1.3? 15 Feb 2009?

Erm...I tink this flaw was already fixed from v1.2...r u using a CPL?

No CPL, I don't use CPL on compacts. I don't know if this related to the V1.1 underexpose issue which I also encountered, but yes V1.2 has fixed it. But I dun remember in V1.1 and V1.0 that I get underexposed shots when I shoot in "Dynamic" or "Vibrant". Bring you LX-3 out and on a sunny day, look into the LCD as you change the film type from standard to vibrant, you can see the cam will darkened the shot by 2/3 stops, this is something which I don't remember I'd seen in V1.0 or V1.1.

Any reason why not?

Well, I am not that hard core to get a CPL (and they are not cheap) for every cam that I have. If I am in a situation that needs a CPL, then I will lurk my DSLR around.

Hi, can someone please help me with this. I install the file to the SD card and put it inside the camera, nothing happens at all.

STEP 3. Copy the firmware file onto an SD Memory Card. Prepare an SD Memory Card with the extracted file from STEP 2 above.

Preparation of the SD Memory Card
8 MB or more must be free on the SD Memory Card and use an SD Memory Card which has already been formatted for the DMC-LX3. Please refer your instruction book for mode details. (Use DMC-LX3 for formatting the SD Memory Card.)
When formatting the SD Memory Card, all data, including protected data, will be erased and can not be recovered. Please make sure to back up your important data so you don't loose it.

Insert your formatted SD Memory card to your SD slot of your PC.

Copy the downloaded file onto the SD Memory Card.
If your PC does not have an SD slot, use an external USB SD Reader/Writer device.

Copy the file into the Root directory (*1) of the SD Memory Card.
(*1) Root directory = The first or top-most directory in the hierarchy.

How do you guys format your SD card and which folder do you place the file in?

Please help. Thanks.

Is ur camera in playback mode? Is it fully charged? Is e file in ROOT directory?

Is your battery full charged? You need to.

Hi, guys thanks for the replies. I managed to solve the problem. I shift the position of the software from inside the picture folder to on top of the 2 folders. I guess that is what it mean by (*1) Root directory = The first or top-most directory in the hierarchy.. First the software, follow by the 2 folders in terms of hierarchy from the top.
