Cfast 2.0 cards are still a variant of CompactFlash. So far the highest capacity I heard of is only 256gb which costs a bomb. Serious film makers or videographers prefer to have larger capacity in storage since it's 4k raw. That is a lot of data right there.
"There are a few reasons why we went with CFast 2.0.
The smaller footprint allows us to fit 2 card slots.
Cfast 2.0 supports Video Performance Guarantee. It is the media that is designed for media acquisition.
While SDDs are lower cost, they cost just as much when we first launched the Blackmagic Cinema Camera but prices have come down dramatically. This will also happen with CFast 2.0 media.
The capacity of Cfast cards will also increase. For example, Lexar has also announced a 256GB card and this will only keep growing."
I reckoned we won't see the Ursa in the market for at least another year based on BM past record
By that time, we will probably see cheeper and bigger capacity card. Lets hope the card will not be obsolete when they released the camera
If this camera was semi modular, it will benefit to a larger market. BM is still new to making cameras. Hope they do have options for storage in the future.
