Need some advice..

Was told by salesman when I bought my a380 that Sony was giving a free 50mm f1.8 (iirc) with purchase of their extended warranty. Didn't go for it as I didn't want to spend so much (and end up I'm still going to buy the lens anyway, so it's basically the same now..)

Have you bought the lens yet? I think you can still go to Sony Service Centre at Wisma Altra for purchasing the extended warranty with a free 50mm F1.8 lens until 31 December 2009.

$310 for extra 2 years warranty and the lens, sounds like a good deal. So if I interpreted the advert correctly, even though I bought on nov 1st I'm still eligible to get the lens as long as I purchase their warranty before 31st dec?

$310... Not say I can't afford lah, but it's not a small sum to me too lol.

$310 is for A550. Whats ur body? If its A330 its $260

wrong. to be eligible for the warranty, u have to purchase the warranty 1-2 weeks after purchase. i can't rem. i got mine 1 month after purchase. but mine special case, the sony customer service center email me say i can get anytime before the promotion ends. then i go down, in the end they say no. i told them i got prove say the customer service officer email me say can. so i went to their com and print the email they got nothing to say and let me buy. lol. i got it at 260bucks anyway

Ahh, which basically means I won't be gettting that lens then. Can't touch my 'fallback' cash no matter what unless in dire situations, heh.

Seems like this is pretty hot stuff, can't find it 2nd hand. Ah well, had a quote of $180 before.

I sold off my 50mm a few weeks ago for $170 with free filter. Tat lens was only 1 month old when I sold it.

Another guy sold a brand new copy for $150.

I bought my copy brand new from shops for $190. I find it amusing that some people pay $190 for used copy in BnS lol.

Wonder why would people pay that kind of price. Maybe they never do research or think all places sell at RRP?
