Hi all,

I'm recording videos using the Panasonic Lumix GF1 and the resulting output is in the AVCHD (.m2ts) format.

I realised my PC doesn't recognise this format and my video editing software Adobe Premiere Elements 7 does not support it too.

I don't really need that high-quality video so I don't mind any quality losses if it's converted to AVI or other formats. However, what are the recommended (hopefully freeware) tools that I can use for the conversions?

I noticed there's the motion JPEG format that can be set on the camera for videos too; would this be a better option for me?

Thanks!

Elements is more of Adobe`s absolutely beginners tool. You be looking at more advanced NLE. You can download various trial versions to try first.

or if you are using Vista or higher can download the newer Windows Movie Maker that supports avchd.
