Need Advice

Hi Bros,

Need your advice on my minolta 9xi. Recently found out that at the viewfinder it starts to grow fungus. I went to Minolta but refuse to fix it. They only say that it wont affect the pics. But I went to the other repair shop arround that area, the guy said that the fungus is so bad that definetly affect the AF and the AE. I'm not sure it's true or not.

Please advise if its correct or any one of you guys experience this before ? Then what would be the price to fix it ?

If it only affects the viewfinder, it shold not affect the pictures. The viewfinder should not affect the AF and AE. However, I think minolta should not refuse to fix it, as long as you are willing to pay for the repair.

I remembered I was charged $250 (excluding GST) for a viewfinder replacement for my old 700si with a slight viewfinder liquid leak. If you are willing to pay for the replacement for parts in your 9xi, which I suspect will be very much more expensive, since 9xi is already an obsolate model, I am quite sure they will be more then willing to repair it for you .
