Need advice on camera lens combo

Hi.

I have always been confused on which rig to go for.

I am using a leica m8 for a year now and im very much happy with it (no problems with lcd etc.)

Together with a 50lux and 35summarit i find that the set up covers my photographic needs.

But im face with an opportunity to change my set.

Will you go for:

1. Sell m8 and 50 lux to yet a M9P and only left with 35summarit

Or

2. Keep the M8 and use a 50lux and 35lux set (sell the 35summarit)

I always get mixed feelings whenever im about to pull the trigger and your different opinions may help me.

Option 2 makes more sense to me. Optics comes before the camera body.

I will choose option 1 if I where you. IMO digital bodies are important as well as optics. Unlike film, the digital bodies are also responsible for pic quality, iso performance, sensor etc. Its not like film where the body is usually more about the functionality as opposed to pic quality.
Personally, I will get a MP and love it till the day i die haha.

i Went ahead and got the M9P, now saving for a 35mm cron or if lucky enough the 35mm lux fle

If I were you, I would get M9P absolutely. And also sell 50 lux and get VM 50/1.5 plus more cash. So VM 50/1.5 and 35 Summarit can last you for quite a while.

Second hand Summicron is a really good deal... or new voigtlander 1.5. You can create great pics with any lens, don't need to wait just for leica...
