The image is split into two sections. On the left, a vivid display of red, green, and pink aurora borealis lights up the sky. On the right, an enhanced blue-toned image of the Sun shows its glowing surface and active solar phenomena.

The many photos taken of the spectacular aurora lights that lit up the skies of North America and Europe last weekend will help NASA study solar storms for years to come.
