Hmm yes I see where you get that idea from! At first I thought it was over-sharpening (this crop have been sharpened twice and save in low-quality JPG in between), but the original looks like that too... must just be one of those brightly lit spectators... the high res versions look alright, they're not step-laddered or anything.
