My first rangefinder

Hi guys after lurking in this subforum for sometimes, finally it's my first roll with a rangefinder, Zorki 4 with Jupiter 12 :embrass:

It seems that I encountered a problem here; some of the shots (6 out of 36) I took're half black, like these :

While the rest are ok

Anyone knows what causes this?

Something wrong with the shutter?

Anyway, welcome to the RF world! :D

i suspect some of your shutter speed is sticky...
just open your film back, remove your lens and point it to something bright, than test out every shutter speed and check the shutter curtain

yup, should be a sticky shutter speed. is it the higher speeds? you can try "exercising" the speed by firing a few times at the problematic speed

i think its sticky shutters. i'm suffering from it as well. speeds of 1/500 and 1/1000 for my camera also suffers from this "black wall" effect.

Yes it's higher speed, if i remember it was 1/500 or 1/1000. I'll try "exercising" the speed once I finish my 2nd roll. Thanks guys for the help :D

Hey! welcome to RF (Really Fun) world!

jangan malu, bro! your Zorki is good already.. exercise the shutter.. or better, send it for CLA!
