sometime I even shot at ISO 800  , depend on lighting condition.

Noise is not a problem until ISO 800.. ISO1600 noise if visible but still pretty darn good though...

However, you need to make sure you don't under expose the shot then you are ok with 1600ISO.

70-210 f4 is very sharp with flash or not...

Here is the sample..

1/10sec f4.0 @ iso800 no flash, handheld AS on

1/8sec f4.0 @iso800 w/flash handheld AS on

Here is another sample taken by the 70-210 during the same event. The subject was not moving that much and this shot is sharp.

This shot is taken using the following :-

Exposure program manual, 1/90s, F4, ISO 200 and 130mm. I was thinking that those other shots which are not so sharp are caused by following the models with the camera when they are strutting along the run way. When they are stationery, the shots turn out OK. Perhaps increasing the ISO when following moving subjects next time will help.

Your shots were spot on. Just want to know. You have the 70-200SSM right, can you test it with your 70-210/4 at same aperture and subject if the shuttle speed is different? My set show some different on certain time. I can't test my as I sold it 2+ years ago.

Hi,

If you are using 70-210 f4 and 70-200 f2.8 SSM, there will be no different in exposure if you shoot at the same aperture...

If you find any differences in the exposure, you might be metered it wrongly. If you are using the honeycomb metering, it will change with some changes to the lighting condition.

Technically it is impossible to have different exposure with any lens (providing the same focal length) at the same aperture and light is constant. If you are going to test, you need to test it at control environment. Only vary 1 variable at a time.

If you search the forum for "my nephew" and "agetan", you can see the shots comparing the f2.8 SSM and f4. They are as sharp both at f4, based on my copy though.

Now, anyone want my f4.0 version? hahaa... selling it soon as I might get another SSM soon...

All taken with KM5D, Av, CAF, Centre-Meter, ISO800 (non-flash), F/4, speed varies. I think this beercan is just sweet. Dont you think so??

This is the first time i relied fully on the CAF Multi-zone focusing. Accuracy is sweet with almost 95% spot on. Metering is reliable too.

1st shot is very nice, very striking image of a curvy lady in flowy red against the bokeh of the muted colours and graphical background... You got a very good spot to take this fashion show. I gave up taking this kind due to too many people fighting for a good spot. A touch of fill flash would be better to brighten up her eye sockets. The other 2 do need a little fill flash due to the very harsh shadows on their face. I love the beercan too that I got 2! Sold one away to reno77 though due to not enough space in the drybox, haha!
