Minolta DiMAGE Messenger application software

Langenhagen, March 2003
Minolta DiMAGE Messenger is a new support software for essential use by business, educational, technical, medical and all manner of professional users. Additionally, for private users, its properties make it the perfect software partner to richly enhance recreational communication.
This application software allows the visual tagging of images for a clear, effective, and simple communication of ideas. DiMAGE Messenger reduces the amount of explanation required for good communication and can even help overcome technical misunderstandings, language and translation difficulties.

The Minolta DiMAGE Messenger uses a simple, but efficient GUI (Graphic User Interface). Comments are clearly displayed and the image can be resized and oriented as necessary.

With Minolta DiMAGE Messenger you can attach questions, comments or explanations to any digital image. These comments can be linked to a specific area of the image by means of a colour frame. By clicking on a particular comment or question in the relevant comment box, the corresponding area of the image will be highlighted.

When a Messenger document is circulated among a group, the member who created the comment, and the date and time the entry was made, can be noted and displayed. Each member of the group can then add to existing comments or questions. These related comments are tiered so that any discussion thread can be followed through later.

Because the detail in the image which is being discussed can be clearly identified, communicating with individuals in other locations can be more effective, since it will be unnecessary to explain where the point, part or person under discussion is located in the image.

This aspect of the software is especially important in technical, forensic or medical images where there may be several subtle, yet critical, details within the image, the exact location of which must be visually indicated precisely.

Messenger could be used to provide a highly sophisticated nomenclature for parts identification and troubleshooting customer’s questions. It can be used to deal effectively with customer’s concerns over identification of parts or even to assist in the proper assembly sequence from anything from flat pack furniture to PC peripherals, for example.

The use of DiMAGE Messenger may be used in training and education as a simple visual aid to understanding, as part of a correspondence course and as a the perfect device for student testing and revision.

Recreationally Minolta DiMAGE Messenger can be used to identify members of group shots. This will be particularly useful when you’re catching up with far away family or old school and college friends. Now it’s easy to identify and communicate exactly “who’s who?” in that wedding group that was taken just last weekend, or in the old school photograph taken over thirty years ago.
Messenger will also prove an invaluable help to those tracing their ancestry and recording and archiving their family’s history.
The Messenger file can also be printed out with detailed image sections and any correspondent’s related comments. This file can be laid out in one to three columns. Colour matching is available for accurate monitor and printer reproduction.

Not only is adding and editing comments straightforward, the Messenger file can be e-mailed to other people directly from the source author. When sending the file, a trial version of the Minolta DiMAGE Messenger can also be sent so the file can be viewed and edited. All Messenger functions can be used in the trial version for 14 days. A license key can be purchased on-line so that the software can continue to be used.

A trial version of DiMAGE Messenger and product information can be found
