Some people have asked me whether it is possible to mount M mount lenses to SLR bodies. Well, not possible. But the reverse is possible. You can mount Nikon F mount SLR lenses onto M mount bodies using the F-L adapter + L-M adapter. Here is some of the pics that I've taken Nikkor lens with R4M body...

OH! That's interesting!

But in that case will there be focusing issues? For sure there's not RF coupling, what about focusing to infinity and such?

Yup... Not RF coupled. Have to gauge the distance to focus. Best is to use infinity all the time. :)

do u have this coupling for sale?

Er... you mean is this adapter for sale? Yes, it is for sale. Price list on my web site.

As mentioned, the adapter is NOT RF coupled. Just have to "agar agar" distance to shoot or use at infinity.

dun seem to be able to find it on the site
the adapter i saw on ur site is the L mount to M mount leh.

how much is this F mount to M mount adapter anyway?

So if I were to be using a Bessa R I need only the F-L adapter?

Erv.

Opps... sorry left out the pricing... it's SGD160 for F=>L. To mount on M, need the L-M adapter which cost SGD56. Hence total is SGD216.

If your camera body is L mount, then no need the L-M adapter. :)

because of the spacing (2 adapters), wouldn't the focusing scale (and infinity) also be inaccurate?

Nope. The spacing of the F-L adapter is measured such that the back focus distance is the same Nikon F mount bodies.

The L-M adapter is only 1mm which is the normal back focus distance difference between L mount bodies and M mount bodies. Hence, focusing at infinity should not be a problem at all.

This was the same question I asked when I first came across this adapter. Technically, it should work. But I have not used it myself, so, not sure of the image quality though... Will probably do so this weekend. ;)

thanks. get back to u again.
think it is gonna be crazy mounting my huge Nikkor lenses on my RF

This is already in the market for sometime already and its quite hard to use it. As stated by chiif, you have to really gauge ya shots.

So boss Chiif, any results from your experiments yet?
I may be considering using the F-L mount to my BessaR in the future..

Cheers! :)

Not yet... will post some pics when I have taken some... :)

I got the adapter from Chiif. It's easy to use. No problem with distant or near focus. Here are 2 sample pix. The picture of the pipes is a full size crop of a scene about 1/2km away. Conversion to jpg has blurred the pix a little.
Nikkor 135/3.5 lens + VC adapter. Fuji Superia 400 film. For near focus, I use an external rangefinder. One can also use a 2nd camera to get the focusing distance.
