What is TC? :think:

..and do you need to use tripod for this? I know the shutter speed is quite fast, but the object is so far away (haven't tried this yet)

Yes. you need a tripod. Unless you have super steady hand.. Shutter speed fast bcos.. the moon is moving. If you try to do slower shutter speed example like 5sec or more.. then your image will be blur as the moon will move.

TC = Teleconvertor .

- Peace -

Remember the recommendation for handhold shooting: shutter speed >= 1/focal length
Focal length here is minimum 150mm*2 (from TC) = 300mm or maximum 500mm*2 (from TC) = 1000mm. Unless you use 1/300s or 1/1000s shutter speed you must use tripod, no chance to handhold a shot with such a small FOV. Object distance is irrelevant, what matters is focal length and the resulting FOV.

Niecly said. But sometimes. its difficult to explain to newcomers. To make it easy I would always say .. as long as your shutter speed slower/longer than 1/60 .. Handheld is not recommended.
