Opps, now got what i think is the ideal camera for me and all ultra zoom fans!
The new panasonic DMC-FZ10 will be selling in Nov! 4MP, 12X zoom with image stabilization and max f2.8 throughout!

But make sure that it doesn't have the noise and focusing problem of the FZ1. Other wise you'll have very bad low light (indoor/outdoor cloudy days) experience. I did.

Don't be attracted by the name of 'Leica'. I feel that either it's Olympus lens, Canon lens, Fujinon lens, Karl Zeiss lens or others, there's not much difference in consumer grade digicams.

The shop has called me and requested me to clarify the pricing after several Clubsnappers called up wanting to get the Minolta Z1 at $580. You should be aware that this is a honest misquote as the person who replied to the equote mistook it for Panasonic Z1, a cheaper model. The shop has graciously sold you the Minolta Z1 at the quoted price of $580 which is below cost to make up for the mistake. So, the price of $580 you quoted is definitely no longer valid.

$580 might not include the cost of a 256MB CF card! In which case after subtracting the cost of the 256MB CF card, your camera seems to cost around $580?

Can some Z1 owners post photos taken with vivid color mode and high sharpness settings?

I kind of like high staturation colors by fujifilm S5000.
I also like the high sharpness of olympus C750.
I also like the full functions, low price and VGA movie of the Z1...but so far the photos i've seen have the soft and pale looks in them.... :think:
