Minolta Reverse Ring (Mystery)

Hi Guys, need some urgent advised. :bsmilie:

Recently bought a Reverse Ring for minolta and try to reverse 50mm lens for macro but strangely i find it very difficult or impossible to attached to my minolta 5D. I tot it should not require any rocket science knowledge to mount a reverse ring. It should feel very much like attaching any lens to the camera. And upon closer inspection, I noticed the shape of the Ring does not seem to resemble the lens mount. So my layman logic tells me it should not fit. But the supplier claimed that it is meant for maxxum or dynax camera. So need all master confirmation here. Does the Ring mount looks ok to you? Or it is for the older MC/MD camera?

Yes, that is Minolta manual focus mount (MD/MC lens).

he wasn't exactly wrong. maxxum and dynax are the same name and used during the MD/C era and A-mount era. for e.g. my 1200af macro flash was designed "for Maxxum" but on the 5D and 7D TTL doesn't work

just make sure you know which mount you're getting when buying adapters and lenses...

I think Maxxum and Dynax are only used for Minolta camera with A mount (AF camera)
The camera with old manual focus mount (SR mount, but lens is called as MC/MD lens) is not referred as Maxxum or Dynax.

As for the 1200AF Macro flash, it is supposed for Maxxum camera, but only for film camera.
So it is correct that 1200AF Macro flash is for Maxxum.
