Hello,

A homie of mine just gave me this camera with a 35-70mm f/4 Macro lens.

Popped in a new set of battery and its working!

Played around with it, and it rocks. (Its shutter sounds is nicer than the Canon 350D. But I still prefer the shutter sound of the 300D)

So far I have changed its Mode, Drive mode, the up arrow buttton, the scroller thingy to change aperture, shutter and function button.

The problem is,
1) My homie aint got no manual, so I am really lost in terms of operations. I tried http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/maxxum7ki/index.htm but theres no manual for it. Tried google, but it came out with some web sites where I must pay to read the manual. :thumbsd: Anyone with help on this?

2) The lens was decorated for free by fungus. IMO its really alot to even clean it, so I was thinking of dropping by Cash Converters AMK to look around since I will be there tomorrow morning.(Living in Yew Tee). So does this camera uses the A mount?

3) Is the 5400HS compatible with this camera?

Regards,
tm1

1. Minolta only have 1 AF mount (A)
2. Yes its compat with 5400HS.

I still have it with me. Around since 1988 and still clicking. Didnt use much of it though. It was very stylo and advanced then. The slider control is not as effective as the wheel (started by Canon EOS620/650 I think).

I may still have the manual but you dont really need the manual with this camera. Real easy. If settings got messed up, press the big P (Full Program, but ppl also call it the Panic) button. It will reset most settings to default auto mode.

Have fun ;)

Another question.

The side card thingy(I am not sure what is it called. See la need manual to identify the parts. haha) It is spoilt. If you open it, theres buttons for times, ISO, rewind and Card Adj.

Tried pressing some buttons and nothing works(warned by my homie already). If I were to load an ISO 400 film, will the ISO speed be ISO 400?

Now I am clicking the shutter with no film. I dont see the film thingy rewinding. Is it how its supposed to be?

tm1

I think that slot is meant for a card that could record the settings of your shots or something like that... but it's not a memory card... that is if I understand what u are describing...

Yeah, its some card slot thingy.

it's a slot for program cards ..portiats, soft, .etc...

Can the 3600HS D flash be used on the camera?

Regards,
tm1

P.S anyone got any al cheapo lens to sell me?

Hmmm... I still hv a Highlight/Shadow card posted for sale for months with no replies :bsmilie:

Wanna buy??

The 4 buttons from top-bottom are...
1. Self-timer
2. ISO: It will auto DX-coded film but you can override the settings
3. Rewind
4. Card adjust: To adjust the settings on the program cards. Some cards in this series are bracketing, highlight/shadow, flash bracketing, soft focus...
