Those who said Minolta is late in the DSLR market should take a look at this. They are there as well but market not ready and they didn't carry on like the rest.

Looking at spec..."3 CCD sensors to provide high resolution of 1.75 million pixels"

Yes, but the minolta name it'self is history now. Minolta was my first camera / SLR and I liked thier film bodies. But they just could't cope with digital world. I was annoyed with AF performance of 7D and poor QC. Not sure how long sony's is going to repair 7D & 5D.

For as long as they have parts...

Actually I have been rather annoyed with the AF... but it's the handling and the exposure consistency and latitude of the sensor that is really keeping me with the camera... I just went to Cambodia and the lighting is very harsh at this time of the year... I was really surprised at the amount of detail in the highlights that are still preserved given that I had to blow some of the highlights selectively... it's pretty difficult to get a very bad shot that is unrecoverable even in jpg... of course I refer to snapshots and not the planned shots (had little or no time cos had to play babysitter to 16 students)... will post when I get down to sorting out what I want from the 600+ shots...
