Based on my experience, I have this problem of one of the tripod legs keep slipping down even though I have tightened it. That particular leg I need to extra tighten which I think it is not right. You should consider the weight load that the tripod able to handle and the fluid head that is able to handle the working load of the crane. Hercules tripod, you could consider.
