Got a question to ask on MF scanning.

I just got back a MF 645 film scan from Grace lab, but I found out its crop to 3:2 ratio.
So I called up to ask them on why is it so, the uncle told me because its the negative holder size.

So the enquiry is, is all negative holder like that, or other labs have different negatives holder that can scan true 645 format which is a 4:3 ratio?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, my first roll on MF.

Thanks in advanced.

That's strange... even cheap consumer scanners like canon 8600F can scan medium format.. I guess it's just this lab!

Hmm...
I just called another lab to enquiry on this.
The person told me, they can give me full resolution without cropping, but have the black borders.
Or, slightly crop, to remove the black borders.

So 120 film scans, will definitely can't get full resolution without black borders I presume?

Thanks in advanced.

I am about to start MF journey, brothers guide me.
