Hi MF gurus,

I don't knw weather is this the right place for me to post my doubts. But need ur advice on which MF camera should I get? Mamiya Pro SD RB67 or RZ67 Pro II?

did some searching, seems like the main difference is on the electronic operations on RZ67 and also the huge price difference. Are there any more difference tht i missed out?

What will be your recommendations? pardon my ignorant :embrass: , but got an opportunity to start-up and needs a MF camera.

Thanks in advance. Cheers

It really depends what u want.

Basically what you have mentioned is your answer. RZs use battery operations and RBs total mechanical but both need manual focusing.

Not sure you know about this late photographer name HERB RITTS. He is super famous with his shoot with Hollywoods stars, Politicians and Dalai Lama. He uses the RZs for fast and effective shoots. He uses a lefthand grip trigger with a prism view finder for fast focusing.

Convienience wud b the RZ as u need not wind film. Good for fashion shoots. If you r shootin plenty of landscapes and studio RBs wud be more than enough to serve your purposes. Both RBs and RZs lenses are super sharp.

So what is main subject anyway? Have money, go for the RZs but remember u need batteries. RBs? Well just shoot any where you want. Remember u need a light meter as well. There is no metering telling you what the exposure for the RBs and RZs unless you buy the prism view finder which has matrix metering system for the RZs and spot and average metering finder for the RBs.

Go to CP and have a feel but check this website first and compare the differance first.

Check out official website for RZs and RBs

Anyone else care to contribute?

i'm using a Pro S which is the earlier version,i find it very easy to use with a tripod and the extra wind needed for the film advance is really nothing,u will get used to it.
Battery independence is another big big plus for choosing RB.

but,if i am to buy one now,i probably get the RZ if $$ is not an issue with you.
My point is,no matter which one u choose,u will get used to it. :D

Thanks Pro Image and kex for your advice, I went to CP yesterday to check out both models.

The sales person is very helpful and let me has a feel of both models. Both are....Shiok!!!

Personally, I am leaning towards RB67, anyway, will decide soon...

Thhanks gurus :)
