Maintain L seal and CLA

Would like to ask if doing a CLA will destroy the L seal on the camera body (earlier M series). I vaguely recall that it is possible not to destroy the L seal from one of the websites I read. Is it true?
The only way is to send to Leica to do CLA for it to be intact?

-> Yes, there is a screw under the seal. It is kind of warranty stamp in electronic stuff nowaday

Well, in my opinion, L seal is just for some people who wants a "virgin" collection. In fact, most people who use camera to take photo, would prefer camera with good CLA to a old camera with seal.

Beside L seal, there are many different seals from other good CLA services (DAG, Sherry Krauter, etc).

I will buy a L seal camera only if i want to collect it or the price is very attractive if I factor in a CLA.

Thanks all for the reply. Currently the M3 I am using works perfectly. I am just wondering if I should CLA it for the sake of CLA. Someone told me that if it aren't broke, dont fix it. :think:

Yeah, don't fix it untill something breaks. Check RF alignment and shutter speeds, if both fine u should just use n enjoy it!!
