This a Beijing publication. Very good quality paper, so good that it can actually be a book.

Got some very nice pictures but sometimes the pics just not to my kind of taste. Quality article also.

Cost about $13. Expensive but u can always go to Central Library to browse. I would rather pay $13 for a good read instead of wasting $5 on the magazine published locally.

I have browsed few copies of this magzine few week ago in a library. Yes, the photos are very nice. Where can we buy this magazine?

went to china last year and realise how good their photography are and content is full!

Go to the book store beside diaso (the shop that sells everything at 2 bucks) IMM.

You can find the magazines there. it's a china book store I think. :P

A lot of China-based magazines is much better than some US/UK magazines. :bsmilie:

The magazine can be bought at a book / music store in Bras Brasha Complex.
Ground floor, near the escalator. This unit will be directly facing the escalator IF 'there's an escalator coming up from basement 1'.

I borrowed this publication at the library too.. Its a very gd read, like what weekh mentioned, the quality of the paper is really good..:) So its $13.. About the same price as Practical Photography.. And I definitely agreed that its better than a $5 local publication..:)

From these publication, u can see that the chinese style is different from the ang mor.

For example, if u can get hold of the May 2006 issue, turn to page 92 for the shots on Lotus. I've seen the Hong Kong and China photographers using the double exposure technics to create the dream-like / water colour painting type of photographers. Don't really see this employed by the ang mor.

yeah totally agree that Chinese style of photography  is different from ours. They do employ alot of the techniques from chinese painting and calligraphy, eg works of Chinese pioneer photographer Lang JingShan.

中国摄影 good read

yeah, 郎静山 is really a legend

i have seen chinese photography mags in the public libraries. other exposures to chinese photography was a exhibition i saw in the esplanade tunnel.

it's worth checking out to expand our receptiveness to a wider range of photography.

Another one is Chen Fuli from HK. Recently there a pictorial with his collection of work.

Get a copy of their work if u manage to come across them.

If you guys travel to China frequently, buy from there: it's so much cheaper. It's less than S$4 (RMB15-18) after conversion. I've ordered a year's worth of a photo mag but it's now held at my China friend's house coz he told me the post office quoted about RMB180 for postage.

True, the magazine is really good in printing quality, photos and contains too. I guess the magazine could be bought from The Commercial Press(S) Pte Ltd.

I usually buy from the branch at IMM #03-27/28, but they don't keep much stock there.May you guys can buy from main office located at 420 North Bridge Road #01-20, North Bridge Centre, tel 6338 5494 for more details.

I joined as a member to entittle me to get discount when purchase normal books, but for magazine they don give discount.

cheers

Just go to Popular and make order. Use to read there..:p

You can try Chang He Book Store (not sure if it's called Long River in English) at 420 North Bridge Road #01-28 North Bridge Centre S188727, Tel 63393609. It is about 3 - 4 shops away from Commercial Press. They accept subscription for a wide range of China-published magazines. You can choose to self-collect, or they can mail to you but u must pay the postage. But I am not sure of the subscription rates, prob > S$10 per issue since it includes shipment etc...
