is it possible to use a close-up filter on rf lenses? any +1/+4 filters for rf lenses?
just wondering.... i'm thinking of putting my 500D infront of 50 or 90mm to try
out....:bsmilie:

but then i dun have a drf to do a quick test....

Yes, it is possible, I have Leica close-up filters, 39mm, given by a friend ... but don't ask me, I never tried them, no time to experiment and I just find it makes no sense not being able to see the effect before taking the shot ...

I think focusing will be a pain and of coz, using it on a digital rf would make more sense....

Indeed ... an SLR is better suited, an RF has its own uses, even if its digital. At any rate, a close up filter, even on a DSLR, is a compromise. Best to just use an SLR/DSLR with the proper close-up lens.

A side note ... I am able to use a polarizer on an RF, however. I have the Kenko which I got from Robert White in the UK, it has markings on the sides, and at whatever mark, the effect is consistent. So I just memorize the degree of effect at each marking. I no longer need the "finder"/guide that comes with the polarizer. Should be applicable to other polarizers, but one has to make marks ...

I like using the IR filter on an RF too ... on an SLR, more work involved as it becomes blind (although the Lee filter system I use helps alleviate this).
