Macro lenses vs telephoto lenses ?
Are they the same thing ?

which is better if I want to take close up of insects or flowers ?

No they are not the same. Macro lens gives you magnification, telephoto gives you zoom.

You'll need macro lens since you want to take close-up pictures.

Macro = Magnifying glass

Telephoto = Binoculars

Many telephoto lenses are macro capable. If they are not you can use a macro filter on them.

So get telephoto can liao for insect pics since its a close up ?

you don't use telescopes to view insects, you use magnifying glass right?

same theory, macro lenses are more suited for taking insect pics.

where to get macro lenses for consumer camers like nikon coolpix 4300 ?

Any shops to recommend except nikon agent itself ?
