4. Sigma 105mm

Anyone has any photos comparison btw Tamron 90mm + Minolta 100mm
or Minolta 100mm D vs. non D version?

as u know i got a 100 2.8 non -d for sale. It has never disappointed me actually. :) sharp all the way from 2.8 and the focus is easy to work with (slow AF cos needs many turns) but for macros, its VERY precise.

You would not be disappointed with the tamrons or the minoltas... both are solid lens.

Yeah, someone told me that Minolta 100mm is better than Tamron 90mm.. but both are very good lens.
Anyone knows of any difference btw Minolta D version vs. non-D version

Picture quality is the same...

The only different is the focusing ring, the non D version has very small focusing ring and of course don't have the ADI metering...

If you find a cheap non-D you should buy it...

There are at least 3 versions of the minolta 100/2.8.
Current: Minolta D 100mm, ADI + Circular aperture + AF/MF clutch mechanism
Current-1: Minolta 100/2.8 RS (revised), Circular aperture, rubber focussing ring
Current-2: Minolta 100/2.8 (maybe original), plastic focussing ring.

Haven't tried the Tamron but I was comparing between the Sigma and the Minolta and ended up with the (current-1). The sigma is practically as sharp as the minolta 100/2.8 and they are almost too sharp for portraits. The Minolta is really one of the best I have seen (just short of my Contax G lenses but not by much). IIRC, the sigma uses a 7-blade aperture and the sigma's OOF just does not feel as natural as the Minolta's.

The only complaint I have is that the focussing ring on my current-1 is a little annonying being so thin but I got used to it and that's fixed with the D if it bothers you too much. I recommend at least the current-1 even if only for the bokeh.
